During this time while we are all facing uncertainty, let us come together to serve those around us. Here are just a few of the ways that you can get involved.

Help Someone in the Community

Dear Friend,

During this crisis, we are all vulnerable in different ways. Love Whittier is a space for members in our community to help each other in this challenging season and beyond. Whether you can help some pickup groceries, set up a zoom call, or chat with someone who is lonely, we need your help! Please, use the form linked here to provide assistance in one of the listed areas. Once you have been approved to help in each area, you will receive confirmation. From there, you will be able to sign up to help people who are requesting assistance. Though we may not be able to fix everything or meet every need, we truly believe we are stronger together. Thank you for being a part of our community.

Please note the following parameters:

-Assistance with free material goods from groceries to hygiene/household supplies will only be provided once a week or as supplies last.

-If you can afford to buy your own items, but are not able to leave your home, please request assistance with errands rather than our free groceries/supplies options. If you select errands, you must order your items and pay in advance and then communicate the pickup information to the volunteer.

-Volunteers may not enter the residence or car of any recipient and should take precautions of wearing a mask and gloves if at all possible.

-Volunteers may not provide transportation for any recipient.

-We do not guarantee the fulfillment of any requests.

-A volunteer may decline to help if they become uncomfortable or have concerns for their own health or safety.

-Volunteers who cannot fulfill their assignment must let us know at amanda@wacc.net so that we can reassign the case.

-Do not sign up to volunteer if you have felt sick or been exposed to someone who felt sick within the last 14 days.
